Green Lents has engaged community members in Lents and greater East Portland on air quality issues since 2016. Our community members often face disproportionate impacts from diesel pollution and toxic emissions from industrial facilities. The video below tells the stories of various community members that are directly impacted by these issues. In 2017, we mobilized Spanish-speaking residents that live next to I-205 through an information session on Cleaner Air Oregon. We then held a Spanish-language storytelling workshop and helped residents submit public comment for the Cleaner Air Oregon program. Our organization works in coalition with other air quality advocacy groups in Oregon to ensure that all community members have access to clean air.
