many makes whole

There are so many ways to support your neighborhood programming through charitable tools and mechanisms developed by employers and businesses at no cost to you. Read on to see how you can help!

BECOME YOUR COMMUNITY'S FUNDING LIAISON

Many businesses have developed charitable mechanisms through which they distribute funding to nonprofits, such as:

  • Employer match programs for volunteer time and/or automatic payroll deductions (e.g. Nike, US Bank, many others). You can check here, and with your HR. We are registered on most platforms making such support possible and easy.
  • Grants and sponsorships through employer foundations. The priority is often given to nonprofits able to demonstrate employee volunteer engagement (most big stores, insurance companies and local banks). Let us know if you contribute(d) time that would qualify you as our reference.
  • Awards available to local nonprofits upon request or through voting of the employee(s) (e.g. T Mobile, Evo, 3Degrees, others). Check with your leadership.
  • Community fundraising opportunities at local businesses across Portland, such as benefit feature days, trivia nights, etc.

We are inspired by our community members who take the lead in connecting existing charitable programs at their workplace and favored businesses to our greater Lents community.  Contact  [email protected] for any help with setting up new funding for our neighborhood!

FRED MEYER REWARDS & AMAZON SMILE

As of Spring 2022, Green Lents enrollment into the Fred Meyer Community Rewards has automatically generated approximately $120 a year from 16 households at no additional cost to them and us. Nearly exactly the same amount of about $40 per quarter has been coming in from Amazon Smile thanks to the people who selected us as the beneficiaries of 0.5% from their purchases.

If you are already a customer of these businesses, consider investing 2 minutes today to activate their charitable tools for your community’s benefit: click here for  Amazon Smile and Fred Meyer Community Rewards programs.

If our community members tripled  these enrollments, our community would see additional $700-950 per year. Opportunities abound for investing these substantial funds, such as contracting interpreters for multilingual community members to have the complete experience of our events and meetings, and many more!
